KENNEWICK, Wash. — Jason Hutchison threw third-quarter touchdown passes to Brandon Larson (9 yards) and Tyler Merkel (23) to help Kamiakin break away after leading just 14-12 at halftime.

Hutchison, who was 13 of 19 for 222 yards, also had a 41-yard scoring hookup with Corey McLean in the second quarter.

Zach Umemoto complemented Hutchison’s effort by rushing 24 times for 160 yards and two scores, the second coming early in the fourth quarter to effectively seal the Braves’ victory.

Prosser’s Ryan Fassler was 10 of 16 for 126 yards and two touchdown passes, but he was also intercepted twice, with the second one returned 65 yards for a touchdown by Andrew Castillo to cap Kamiakin’s 27-point second half.
